3 kms far from Siena, on the top of a hill covered with olive groves and vineyards, in the hamlet of "Le Tolfe" , stands a 19th century villa called "Caselunghe " for its characteristic long shape, which lies among cypresses and holm oaks. "Le Tolfe" is an antique name which, tradition says, comes from a knight of Carlo Magno called Tolfo Dei Gricci, who built a castle and tower both still existing along with the little church of St. Paterniano.
