 A paradise for surfers, St. Christophers Inns in Newquay has bagged itself a prime location with fantastic views and all at a fabulously low room rate. The waters around Cornwall are the best that the UK has to offer for surfing and Newquay alone has 11 beaches with 7 miles of sand. This hostel is set up on a cliff overlooking Towan Beach itself, whilst the nearby beaches of North and South Fistral (which are of a good competition standard), Great Western, Tolcarne, Lusty Glaze and Watergate are within very easy reach. Its position makes this hostel one of the places to be during the Rip Curl Newquay Boardmasters Yearly Festival. For those who want to explore the mysterious county of Cornwall, Newquay makes a great base from which to do your sightseeing. The legends surrounding Uther Pendragon, King Arthur of the Britons, his magical sidekick Merlin and the Knights of the Round Table have their home in many places on the outskirts of the town, with the ruins of Tintagel Castle just further along up the shoreline. Picturesque and busy fishing villages litter the coast whilst inland the remote expanse of Bodmin Moor provides an interesting contrast of scenery. The much celebrated, ecological Eden Project is also just a short journey away via the shuttle bus service which is provided. Newquay has a large selection of pubs and clubs that are nearby, however, theres every chance that you wont want to leave a hostel that has its own great in-house entertainment, fabulous views and quality facilities.
